Fireboy & Watergirl

 Before starting the school year at a new school, I told myself I wasn't gonna be friendly nor make friends, not knowing I would end up meeting some of the most amazing people i've ever met. Usually, I meet people  and expect the friendship to “fade” or just not work out, however, there is one friendship I made that I genuinely know will never fade. Lets call her Jayleen. Me and Jayleen are both in the same grade, and we also share a class and lunch. Even though we have a class with each other, we never really knew each other or even spoke to each other, up until one day we’re me and my friend noticed Jayleen in the lunchroom. She was always quiet, if she wasnt by herself she was with her friend, “Monkey”. Anywhoo, after my friend pointed Jayleen out I then approached her and asked for her social media because she seemed like a girl I would want to be friends with. I was right, Jayleen is definitely someone you would want to be around, from her vibe to her jokes, she is just truly amazing. After I introduced myself and we knew who each other were, we slowly started talking to each other after that and started to spend lunch together. As we spent more time together, our friendship continued to grow. We got to know each other better and I later realized that me and Jayleen share some personality traits, like our sense of humor, and that's how I knew this friendship was gonna be long lasting because I rarely have things in common with other people. What makes it even better is that our zodiac signs, Jayleen is a Leo and i'm an Aquarius. It is proven to show that both zodiac signs bring out each other's ‘primal side’ in a way no other zodiac sign can. I personally believe this because I LOVEEE Leo energy, they're just truly amazing. After finding out Jayleen was a Leo I knew it was meant to be because I always wanted a Leo friend, and Jayleen best fits the job. Anyways, as you can probably tell I could go on and on about all the things I love about our friendship. For someone I met not that long ago, It feels like I’ve known them for a lifetime. I can always count on her, or go to her without being judged. Literally such a loving & genuine soul.

 How does assimilation affect students?     Assimilation,  is the act of changing aspects of one’s identity, including cultural identity, to fit societal standards.  Most people feel like they cannot be themselves around others and tend to change things about themselves. Such as, the way they speak, talk or act. This issue happens worldwide. Unfortunately, people don't realize they are just hiding their unique aspects about themselves just to fit in with the rest of the world. What are the different ways assimilation can affect students?      Many students feel the need to assimilate due to society. Some stop wearing traditional because they are ashamed.
