How does assimilation affect students? Assimilation, is the act of changing aspects of one’s identity, including cultural identity, to fit societal standards. Most people feel like they cannot be themselves around others and tend to change things about themselves. Such as, the way they speak, talk or act. This issue happens worldwide. Unfortunately, people don't realize they are just hiding their unique aspects about themselves just to fit in with the rest of the world. What are the different ways assimilation can affect students? Many students feel the need to assimilate due to society. Some stop wearing traditional because they are ashamed. Instead of feeling embarrasment, students should feel the need to be who they are.
